2022 Membership and Golf course plans
2022 Membership and Golf course plans
Greetings to all our Homestead members and friends! We hope that everyone has had as enjoyable a holiday season as can be expected during these continuing difficult times. The shutdowns and continued restrictions we have experienced have only forced us to look forward even more to the start of the 2022 golf season.
We wanted to take a moment to share with you all the current plans and changes we may and expect to see on the course and property this year. First and foremost we’d like to address the fact that we will have work starting in the early spring that will impact holes 10 through 13. We have already established and planned for some new tees to go in on holes #6 through #9 which would be used in the interim as a variation on the existing 4 holes there and then eventually be utilized as additional tee blocks as the new holes come into play.
Regarding the new holes, we still plan on clear
cutting left of hole #6, left of #7, left of #8 and behind hole #9 in order to be able to add these new holes in that space currently not being used. As we lose the aforementioned holes, we plan on laser cutting and removing the greens on those holes then utilizing them for our new area. This will drastically reduce the amount of time needed for these new holes to become playable. We have also been exploring some options for expansion of the golf course in other areas adjacent to our current property. This would be very exciting if it comes to fruition as we could possibly increase the course beyond 18 holes and provide more options for our desired driving range and putting/chipping greens. This however is certainly in the early stages of discussions and if/when more information comes available we will certainly be happy to share with you all. Replacing our cabins and lodging are also in the works, although this will not be as interesting to our local guests as the golf course work. Much of this planned work was scheduled to take place last year however with the delays in completing the clubhouse expansion (it did turn out fantastic!) and the various challenges associated with the Covid pandemic, we were forced to push them back to this year.
We would really like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding as we plough through all these changes, they are all very exciting for us and will only make Homestead an even better facility as we strive towards having one of the best overall courses and facilities in the entire area!
Please do not hesitate to contact myself (Jason) directly with any questions you may have. I may not have all the answers but I will certainly do my best to answer what I can based on what I know at that given time.
We can’t wait to see you all back here soon and bring on spring golfing!!!!
